Meet Jeanette

Hi, I am Jeanette, a soft, gentle and kind soul that loves making SASHIKO.

I discovered sashiko when I lived in Japan.

It’s now more than 4 years ago, my husband and I left Japan after 6 years in Tokyo. My stay in Japan was an unforgettable experience for me.

I loved discovering the Japanese culture, meeting new friends and building a family life with my husband.

On my blog page you will find many stories from my time in Japan.

While experiencing many different cultural aspects of Japan, such as the Japanese tea ceremony, I also learned the traditional Japanese hand sewing technique of sashiko.

I hope you will be inspired on my website to learn sashiko too. And I will be so happy to help you!!

I was born and raised in the northern European country, Denmark. After graduating from university, I began a career in finance. After 8 years my soul led me in a new direction, and I started as a salesperson in a fashion store. I really loved being surrounded by beautiful products and providing excellent customer service. It’s also my hope that you will find the beauty of sashiko and peace in your heart.
